Frequently Asked Questions
Funding Recipients/Businesses
If I received funding from Digital Boost 1.0, am I eligible for this program?
It depends. If your business is lacking a digital strategy, then please contact Jacob.Dunnett@techimpact.it to discuss your particular project and see if you are eligible. If you took part in Digital Boost 1.0, you still need to apply for this program.
Why should I apply for Digital Boost 2.0?
A digital strategy is critical for every business, regardless of sector or industry, and COVID-19 has made technology and digitization even more crucial. Digital Boost 2.0 gives your company the opportunity to complete a digital strategy that acts as a roadmap for your digital journey. It’s an opportunity to look at problems and threats and leverage technology to turn them into opportunities and strengths. It helps business leaders know when and why certain technologies should be used while avoiding expensive mistakes or poor technology investments. Please refer to the Digital Strategy page for more information.
How does funding work?
Digital Boost 2.0 will reimburse 75% of $26,600 to a maximum of $20,000 per company to develop a digital strategy for your business. If the roadmap does not cost $26,600, some of that left over funding can go towards an implementation project. You are responsible for the remaining 25% of costs.
Can I use more than one service provider?
Yes. You can use one technology provider to complete the digital strategy. If there is remaining funding, you can use that towards an implementation project with a different qualified technology provider.
How many projects can my company do?
There is funding for one digital strategy project per company.
Do I need to have an ACOA rep to apply?
No, you don’t need an ACOA rep to apply.
How are Digital Boost 1.0 and Digital Boost 2.0 criteria different?
DB 2.0 targets a wider range of companies in New Brunswick.
How long will this program and funding be available?
The funding will be available until it runs out. We have funding for 150 businesses to complete Digital Boost 2.0. We will accept applications until we have reached that number.
What if my application gets rejected?
If your application is rejected, it does not fit the program requirements. Upon request, we will provide a letter with the reasoning for your rejection and recommend programs that may be more suitable for your proposed digital/technology project.
Technology Providers
I am a qualified technology provider from Digital Boost 1.0. Do I have to reapply for DB 2.0?
Yes. Because this work is different from what was offered in DB 1.0 and all technology providers must reapply. Click here for the application form.
If I don’t have all of the skills required to do this work, can I partner with another technology provider?
Yes, you may partner with another technology provider; however, we will need to know to whom and the part(s) of the project to which they will contribute. They will need to apply to be a technology provider.
Can we upload case studies from another type of project?
No. The case studies need to be from a digital strategy project and cover your strengths/services that would contribute to the digital strategy project.
Can we apply if this is the first time we will be doing this type of work?
Yes. All applications will go through a review process. We’re looking for technology providers who can provide quality and in-depth work to the client.
